Scunthorpe female fronted quartet
Skarlett Riot have a powerful sound and if you like your rock fast, furious and
melodic then you're bound to get on with this one. New single 'Rising' has a
huge, chugging riff at its core which is relentlessly pummelled by the almost
machine-like drumming featuring some heavy cymbal bell action. Now, all this
industry is fine on its own but if you pour in the smooth but strong voice of
frontwoman Skarlett then you have got the oil that keeps the machine flowing
and hurtling ominously towards certain explosion. All the ingredients of a huge
rock song are here with enough edge to work in the UK and enough slickness to
work in the US so expect these guys to break out of Scunthorpe and head for new
heights.
