Bit of a conundrum this one: I like Arthur
Walwin and I like Christmas but, it seems from this particularly unfestive
single, Arthur does not. This new single, a free download by the way, goes by
the name 'December Sucks' and it's a West Coast inspired piece of acoustic pop
that could easily be a McFly or One Direction tune were it not for the wry
lyrics. Bouncy pop rhythms and a bittersweet melody give this a touch of class
that suggests 2015 could be the year that Mr Walwin cuts through and breaks in
to the pop world on his own terms - not with big label backing or TV talent
show exposure, on his own terms. In the meantime, somebody give the boy a
cracker and some mistletoe - it's Christmas for the love of God!
