SONIC HEARTS FOUNDATION - SINGLE REVIEW

Sonic Hearts Foundation - Afterlife
Sonic Hearts Foundation - Afterlife

Release Date: 11th August 2014

Sonic Hearts Foundation are four determined gents from Glasgow who want to take on the world with sparse, atmospheric melodies and a sense of injustice. On their new single, 'Afterlife', the melodies approach from a distance like Grandaddy emerging over the horizon before more driving rhythms and soaring synths take this to an Elbow-meets-Can kind of place that is hard to resist. There are Editors-esque guitars and an expansive ambience that could only be rivalled by standing on the edge of a large, mid-west mountain and screaming your name in to the wind. Probably slightly mistimed to be used in the Commonwealth Games montages but it's that kind of music.
