BRIGHTLIGHT CITY - SINGLE REVIEW

Brightlight City - The Charm Offensive
Brightlight City - The Charm Offensive

I normally get an idea of whether I like a song within about 10 seconds but I'm genuinely torn on this one. Brightlight City's new single 'The Charm Offensive' has the sound and production values of a big stadium band along the lines of U2, Snow Patrol or The Killers. But then again, there's an edginess to this that you might expect from the Futureheads or the Cooper Temple Clause which is hard to resist. Put those two factors together and this single should have major labels salivating, especially with the big heavy rock ending, but I reckon this is just the start and I expect bigger, better things to come from the quintet.
