Indie-pop-rockers The Rifles hail from London town and are
armed with some fine 'n' dandy melodies with which to knock your socks off.
'Minute Mile' is a bright, sparky and bouncy mug of indie-pop tea that has got
at least three lumps in it and good splash of milk. It hits the spot and is
refreshing in a lot of ways but I made the mistake of reading that the Times
described the Rifles as "life affirming pop" and I think that's
taking it a little far. As good as 'Minute Mile' is, I would suggest the music
journalists at the Times need to get out more or expand on their horizons if
their life has been affirmed by the chirpy, cheeky, fun indie shenanigans of
the Rifles.
