Essence Martins - It All Comes To End EP
Release Date: Out Now
I have really enjoyed the emergence of Essence Martins in 2026 (note, The Emergence of Essence Martins sounds like a great novel) and so this seven track EP was a delight to revel in. 'It All Comes To End' opens with 'Please, Don't Wake Me' which has a wonderfully dreamy alt-pop quality that you can easily and happily get lost in. Following hot on the heels is 'Hold The Tiger' which skips along with a banjo melody and Martins' soft, intimate vocals holding hands as they make their way out of town down a dirt track road.
The bubbling energy of 'Red Velvet' has a Harry Styles vibe to it as it swoons and builds with some thumping drums and a steadily rising tension in the vocals. Recent single 'A Confession (I'm Broke)' still hits different with the drum sound kept nice and live while Martins holds the spotlight with her brilliantly unique and breathy vocal. 'Can We All Slow Down' was another of the singles that first grabbed my attention with the deadened guitar strings rhythmically forcing out a melody while the song slowly lurches and sways in a soothing manner.
Penultimate song 'And So It Goes' is a charmingly mellow number that speaks of Sunday afternoons spent lazing in the sunshine, swaying in a hammock and plucking at guitar strings. The EP closes out with title track 'It All Comes To End', a luxurious, string soaked song with a sad resignation but also a freeing sense of realising that everything will end, no matter what you do, so you may as well enjoy it. This is a superb EP (just shy of an album really) showing off a UK artist on the cusp of bing things and armed with the songs to meet that attention.
