Chaz - DROPS
Release Date: Out Now
Chaz is Charlie from Essex (not the TOWIE parts, he's keen to point out) and, self-effacing email apart, this was a great new find to see in my inbox. 'DROPS' opens with a bluesy guitar lick matched with a laid back beat and immediately I'm reminded of the Dust Junkys, Jamie T, and Louis Dunford. Little breakdowns sprinkle some synths into the mix and Chaz continues on his diatribe about flirting with alcoholism, an addiction to gambling, and trying to break out of the grind. This is the kind of track that could easily blow up, go viral and make a big star of Chaz and I genuinely hope it does. Partly so he can duet with the rapper Dave, I'll be honest.
