I live in a place where seagulls can be heard throughout the day (humblebrag) so it confused me when I started listening to this one late at night and suddenly I could hear them again. Turns out, this is just the opening vibe from Irish singer-songwriter For The Birds on her superbly chill new single 'Junebug'. Layered vocals, a dreamy little melody and the kind of percussion that carries you away on a gentle energy all intermingle to create the perfect summer's day aesthetic will the singing swings from spoken word to lullaby-esque tunes. A quietly impressive song that I'll be coming back to throughout the year.
