'Crowstepper' is the new single from Bristol nutjobs Erotic Secrets of Pompeii and it is a departure from their previous work as it represents a move towards Christian trad country. I jest, of course, this is in fact a slice of dark and theatrically menacing rock'n'roll with a groove that draws you in and then messes with your mind. In other words, it's classic ESOP with elements of Roxy Music, the Stooges, and Sparks running through this one between the fuzzed up guitars and thumping drums. Wonkily brilliant, as always.
