The drumming of Sean Goldsmith, like a herd of wild horses, introduces this new single from Cornish quartet Colour TV with urgency and purpose. 'Wake Up, Sleepyhead' is moody in the verses but then bursts into a Britpop chorus that takes you straight back to the 90s and the time just before the internet ruined everything. There's a digital b-side too, with 'Woolgatherer' providing a woozy and disorientating foil to the energy and drive of the main track. Another great pair of songs who are steadily going places but doing it without compromising on creativity or integrity. A rare thing indeed.
