This is an all-too-brief EP from sisters Twayn but, as the old showbiz saying goes, always leave them wanting more. The 'Sadness Is My Sanctuary' is not full of wall-to-wall bangers, as you might expect, but instead opens with the dreamy sadness of 'Spine' which would be perfect to soundtrack the jilted lover walking home in the early morning light, carrying their shoes and existing wholly in the 80s. 'Scary' follows in a similar vein with rich piano melodies underpinning the twin vocals of twins Hannah and Grace, allowing them swoop and soar like birds caught in a dance as old as time. The EP comes to a close far too soon on 'Starstruck', with a stomping and uplifting heartbeat but nothing can steal the spotlight from the harmonies that are as natural as they are beautiful. There is more to come from Twayn and I can't wait to hear it.
