Oswald Slain - Hot Boys

2025 was a strong year for Bristol's Oswald Slain but they're not resting on their laurels in 2026 with new single 'Hot Boys' picking up where they left off. There's a certain sing-song quality to the vocals that remind me of Squeeze, McCartney's Beatles songs or the Kinks but that's mixed with a blurry, bleary quality that is more akin to Blur, Supergrass or Babyshambles. It's so good to hear a band having fun, jamming out a tune leaving things a little rough around the edges rather than filtering everything down to its finest point.
