I have long been a fan of Maisy Grace so was delighted to see this new track land in my inbox but I wasn't fully prepared for what I got when I pressed play. New single 'Stepping Stone' is an incredibly intimate and delicate piece with the Cornish singer-songwriter's voice accompanied by sparse musicianship creating a vibe of making music in the kitchen in the minutes before sunrise. Some layered vocals give the impression of a swelling sound but that's just the start of a new day bleeding in through the curtains letting you know that you've survived another night. Beautifully understated.
