The honest-to-goodness pure joy of 'Penny In The Lake', the new single from Chicago's Ratboys, is something to be celebrated and enjoyed in these days of bleak existence. Like a young Sheryl Crow fronting Grandaddy, this quartet have an easy and comforting style but one that suggests they could pick up and leave town the next day so enjoy it while it lasts. Essentially, it's the Littlest Hobo in musical form and I will turn up for that every God damn day.
