Do you think the Bronte sisters ever sat around and pondered on a Glasgow alt-pop band being named after them? Probably not but it would blow their minds (Bill & Ted style) to go to a gig, surely. Anyway, Glasgow quartet Brontes have honed their craft on the evidence of new single 'Wouldn't Be Me' which has the melody and edge of the Bangles, the song writing of Motown, and the chops of HAIM making them a tantalising prospect. The smoothly harmonised vocals and choppy guitars make for a brilliant juxtaposition but that is overthinking it - this is just great song writing with superb melodies performed with the kind of ease that makes you think Brontes were born to do this.
