London based singer songwriter Genevieve has, on new single 'Girls', created the kind of song that could take off in a number of directions. The 80s synths and beats will appeal to the Radio 2 and 6Music crowds, the fresh production makes this eminently sample friendly and the pulsating bass notes give this a club-ready edge. All that and I haven't even mentioned the vocals which range from impish fragility to disco bombast with the consummate ease. There's an EP due in in December and, based on this evidence, I am already excited.
