So this is the debut release from Georgia's Brother Wallace and, honestly, it feels like he's got a head start on everyone else. 'Who's That' starts with a fat and funky beat'n'bass combo before the guitars and keys join in with a subtle Motown groove but music is just the backdrop. Brother Wallace's voice has soul to spare and the kind of sound the CeeLo Green would kill for and even when the horns join in (and boy do they join in) the power of that voice just holds your attention. What a voice? What a song? What a debut? Outstanding stuff.
