Plymouth's Amber Jade Smith has honed her craft in more pubs and clubs than you've had hangovers but mostly singing other people's songs. 'Echo', however, is one of her own compositions and it is a little bit special. A dramatic beat and sinister melody combination take this to a moody place while Smith's vocal sits somewhere between Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks on their darkest days. The song swells with strings and a sense of a storm brewing or an army gathering at the gates with the ambition of a more established artist. This song is also bang ripe for a dance/trance remix if anyone fancies having a go.
