Yellow Majesty is the nom-de-plum of solo artist Amir Haj-Bolouri who is returning to the musical world with new single, and album title track, 'Aphantasia' (aka the inability to create mental images in one's mind). The seven minute odyssey starts with a hypnotic riff that is both bluesy and full of mysticism before Haj-Bolouri's breathy vocal joins in to add to the atmospheric arrangement. This feels like the sound Mike Oldfield would have made if he had grown up during the 90s grunge scene, enjoyed the music of Depeche Mode and then spent a year living in Scandinavia with nothing but a small studio for company. Some of this may be accurate, some of it may be way off, but whatever you think there's no denying that this is incredible music worthy of a greater audience.
