There's a different vibe to this latest release from one-man-show Lack Of Afro but it still has funk and disco at its heart. 'Keeping Me Strong' is full of lush, sweeping strings and the kind of groove the babies are made to but the vibe is a little off-kilter and sinister, like a David Lynch take on Saturday Night Fever. As always, I'm deeply impressed by the authenticity and crispness of the Lack of Afro sound and the soulful vocals interspersed with some serious spoken word samples really seals the deal. There's a new album coming soon and a big ol' tour so there's really no excuse to not get down.
