It's unusual for bands to write and sing about alcohol in a negative way so it's brave of Jo Jo & the Teeth to tackle the pervasiveness of booze in the music industry. Brave but sadly necessary. 'Whiskey Dreams' opens with a gnarly rock'n'roll riff followed by the bluesy, country tinged vocals of Jo Jo delivered through a sneer earned through experience. Ironically, this is exactly the kind of song you would expect to hear blasting out at a roadhouse bar from behind the chicken wire but if the message gets through to one booze hound then its worth it.
