I don't know what I expected from Ava Renn but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a brooding rock banger that sounds like the love child of Bush and Hole. 'None The Wiser' takes inspiration from that snarling grunge-rock sound of the 90s but with Renn's low, soulful vocal adding a certain release in an otherwise heavy and claustrophobic musical landscape. Tense but urgent stuff.
