Martyrs - Project 1

I don't know a huge amount about Martyrs but what I can tell you from their latest single, 'Project 1', is that they are purveyors of dark, sexy and moody pop. If you like Depeche Mode, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Joy Division and Erotic Secrets of Pompeii as well as spoken word delivery then these guys will be right up your street. The rumbling bass, ominous drums and aforementioned vocals are sprinkled with guitar flourishes and there's a middle eight that eases the weight a little but, before you know it, the house band for the apocalypse are back and turning up the amps until the blood runs from your ears.
