Tyler Childers is a rising star of the alt-country world but he's managed to pass me by thus far but all that has changed with his new single 'Nose On The Grindstone'. From the get-go, this song has a gritty, moodiness to it that is played out in the rattling guitar strings but it's Childers' voice that really brings this one to the attention of anyone with ears and a soul. The blues inspired lyrics are delivered with real feeling and the repeated refrain of "keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills" is a mantra to live by when the chips are down. A beautiful, raw song that I'll be coming back to time and again for the video as much as the song.
