Ahead of her 8th studio album (the delightfully on brand 'Perimenopop') and a slew of live dates, Sophie Ellis-Bexter releases her latest disco infused pop nugget in the shape of new single 'Taste'. A pulsating beat and Daft Punk inspired bass line get us going (in every sense) before those trade-mark silky smooth vocals join in and we're off, sashaying and twirling across the dance floor at a holographic recreation of Studio 54. This is the sound of summer BBQs and kitchen discos but it translates as a bona fide bop as well so that's pretty much all the bases covered.
