NEWTON FAULKNER - SINGLE REVIEW

Newton Faulkner - Alright Alright Alright
(Cooking Vinyl)

Release Date: Out Now

I caught Newton Faulkner live at a Festival last summer, almost by accident, but ever since I have been left with the unshakable feeling that he is a hugely underestimated artist. Faulkner's new single 'Alright Alright Alright' only supports this theory as the furious bass and drums combo gets us going only for the distorted vocal to come crashing in like a wedding singer who missed the soundcheck because he was filling his boots at the free bar. This is punk, there is funk and it leaves you feeling a little drunk in the best way possible - like Eels with a Sgt Peppers middle eight and who doesn't want that at their wedding, right? As Matthew McConaughey would say, "Alright, alright, alright".
