Kate Prendergast - Ignition

I see the words 'rising Irish artist' in a disproportionately high number of email subject lines so the words tend to lose some meaning but in the case of Kate Prendergast I think these are entirely appropriate words. Prendergast's new single 'Ignition' hangs off a rich and warm piano melody played out on the lower nights while a shuffling beat and some slide guitar notes give this country tinge. The energy on this song is all about getting up and out of a situation with the vocals ringing out to guide you back to safety. This is fresh, mature and incredibly impressive song writing performed with passion and no small amount of musical ability.
