It's been a while since Westcountry one-man show Rhys Hurd threw anything new our way so it is somewhat apt that his new single is called 'Do You Miss Me?'. We get underway with a Red Hot Chili Peppers inspired riff and bass combo but mixed with Tim Wheeler-esque vocals to create a brilliant 90s mash up of a sound. There are elements of Lenny Kravitz in the arrangement but the spirit is more Britpop and that leads me down a memory lane littered with many long-lost talents like Orphic Soop, Redwood and Rootjoose to name but a few. Energising stuff.
