A word of warning, if you go Googling Canadian artist Frankie Flowers you may well stumble across a gardener by the same name but the vibes are VERY different. If you get to the right place, however, you'll find the Waterloo based musician in fine form on new single 'HEX', a track which opens with glitchy synths and squelchy bass notes underpinned by a pulsating, late 80s processed beat. When you add in the sultry and uber-cool vocals, you get the very real sense that Frankie Flowers has done her home work as she blends early Depeche Mode with Goldfrapp and Sleigh Bells to create an aggressive but brilliantly intoxicating sound. Very much not gardening music though.
