There's a nice sense of closure to this track after Amy Winehouse's version of the Zutons song 'Valerie' turned it into a world-wide smash and a staple for wedding discos. Now, returning the favour, the Liverpool band have recorded their take on the Winehouse anthem 'Back to Black'. Moody slide guitar and a clicking, trip-hop inspired beat set the scene but it's the vocal of Abi Harding that gives this a special, almost Parisian night meets Spaghetti Western vibe. As the song builds and gathers pace towards a shimmering wall of sound climax you can almost hear the spirit of Winehouse joining in from the bar in the 27 club.
