There's a new album on the way from the fantastic Fantastic Negrito but for the meantime we'll have to make do with 'California Loner', his new single. This is a fat slice of funk'n'soul fuelled by dirty guitars and gooey keys that all give way for that trademark rasping vocal to cut through in the chorus. The soul and old school R'n'B vibes shine through in arrangement and, all in all, it bodes extremely well for the album and forthcoming UK tour dates.
