Finnish duo Messier have come up with one of the titles of the year for new single 'What Would Jesus Do?', luckily the song itself is pretty tasty too. The intro reminds me of 'Wide Awake In America' era U2 but then we soon switch in to a frantic, Fungus-esque indie-punk track that rattles along with brilliant energy. There's some early Sum 41 vibes in there but also Iggy Pop's attitude and guitars that put me in mind of Hot Hot Heat. Short story; this is an ace song with some brilliant reference points and I'm pretty sure JC would approve of this way more than the war and hatred perpetrated in his name.
