Every now and again, a song comes along that gets right inside your head from day one - the instant earworm, if you will - and 'Star In A Reasonably Priced Car' is one of those songs. Despite being named after a feature on Top Gear, the new single from Rubberband Girl is a proper pop track but with an indie heart and that's a killer combination if you get the measurements right. A stomping beat and banjo melody get us going before Rubberband Girl (aka Caitlyn) joins in with an effortlessly smooth and stylish vocal that is both impressive and approachable. This is radio friendly and sing-a-longable with hints of KT Tunstall, Travis and Laura Marling making it thoroughly appealing on a number of levels that all leave you singing along by the end of the first listen. Single of the year potential? Quite possibly.
