Nina Nesbitt is one of those artists that refuses to lie down, give up or be changed by the industry and for that alone we should all be super grateful. But then Nesbitt goes and tops it off with consistently great songs like this pair of beauties which is the cherry on an already awesome cake. Starting off with 'Pages', we return to a simple, acoustic folk melody with those trademark husky, soulful vocals drifting us away across the lochs and pebble beaches of Scotland. 'On The Run' is a more moody, David Lynch vibe of a song as though First Aid Kit were playing in the weird Twin Peaks bar before leaving town, never to return again. Taking control doesn't have to sound angry and ranty, this version of taking control is calm, assured, focused and, well, beautiful.
