Superbly named Irish quartet the Amniotics are back with their new single 'HMPB' and it's a brooding, grungy masterpiece. As the guitars and bass chug with low-key energy and the drums punctuate the distortion, the vocals glide with the kind of mid-Atlantic ease you might expect from Belly, Veruca Salt or the Breeders. "I don't want to hear about your heavy metal punk band" is the excellently singable chorus refrain and, honestly, I'm ready to bop around to this one in an indie club or a summer festival so count me in.
