London based Ben Hemming always brings the goods when we drops new material and this new release is no exception. 'Howling At The Moon' finds Hemming in cinematic form as his gentle strum is overlaid with a Tarantino-esque guitar line as a shuffling, moody beat keeps things plodding forward like a funeral procession in New Mexico. The chorus, however, kicks in to a grunge-rock gear with more in common with Bush, Silverchair or Catherine Wheel without ever relinquishing the bluesy lip curl of the distinctive vocal.
