Scottish collective the Passing Sages are a new bunch to my ears but their sound is a fresh and welcome one. The band's new single 'Agata' starts with a tight, funky guitar riff that is tailor-made for the dance floor and the vocals join in to bring this one in to the pop arena. There's a hint of ABBA to the chorus, there's plenty of Nile Rogers influence in the production and the whole thing just glitters with stardust and dance-floor cool. One of those tunes that you don't need to know to dance to and will get people jumping from the get-go.
