BURR ISLAND - SINGLE REVIEW

Burr Island - Towers

Release Date: Out Now

2023 has been one hell of a year for Devon duo Burr Island but they're not finished yet with string of tour dates still to come and a new single to boot! 'Towers' is billed as an anti-capitalist song and the rapidly plucked guitar strings of the intro give you a sense of pent up frustration and anger in acoustic form. When the chorus hits, however, there's a 60s inspired kick-up in energy and the melodies are sunny, infectious and at odds with the subject matter. This might only be two minutes long but there are a lot of ideas packed in which makes it worth sticking on repeat whether you're off on a protest march or not.
