I grew up with the sounds of Peter Gabriel's music wafting from my brother's bedroom so I'm always intrigued to see what he's come up with and, this time, it turns out he's created a near 10 minute behemoth of a tune. New single 'One By One' features that trademark Gabriel emotive melodic tone and soft, almost apologetic vocal whilst retaining a sense of 80s optimism. Even when the drums and guitars kick in, lifting the energy, you still expect to open your eyes and find yourself in a John Cusack movie. The strange thing is that this doesn't feel like a ten minute song - the sign of good song writing, I'd wager.
