The Heavy are already firmly in my 'favourite find of 2023' category but new single 'Stone Cold Killer' is another notch on that particular bed post. Swaggering rock'n'roll riffs that sound like Jet on a sunny day mix with stabbing keys and gang-vocal harmonies to make a song perfect for road-trippin' down to the coast. There are some hand-claps in the breakdown to die for and the whole vibe has a Redd Kross feel to it which makes me very happy indeed. Some UK dates and an album are on the horizon so we're made in the shade when it comes down to the Heavy for the foreseeable future.
