DAVID KITT - SINGLE REVIEW

David Kitt - Wishing Well (RE:WARM)

Release Date: Out Now

I bloody love David Kitt and I think had forgotten that fact for a while so it was great to be reminded by new single 'Wishing Well'. Scattered and skittish melodies are soothed by a low, rolling bass line for around a minute before Kitt's unmistakably soft and laconic vocal sidles in from the corner to whisper sweet somethings in your ear. The real surprise here is the beat which arrives late and feels like it came dressed as Hip-Hop when the party invitation clearly stated lo-fi indie but, well, it works incredibly well. There's a new album and extensive tour on the way so somebody must have been lobbing coins in to the wishing well and wishing hard.
