Would you look at the size of that tour!? New Zealand quartet the Beths are about to embark on months of touring to promote their forthcoming album but before they set sail, they are leaving behind new singele 'Silence Is Golden' to remember them by. Edgy and agitated drums punctuate the guitars which build and layer with a 90s gloriousness that puts a big ol' smile on my face. We're talking Belly, Breeders and Veruca Salt but mixed in with a little Weezer, Fountains of Wayne and, just to keep things current, Charly Bliss. "I wish I could freeze time, go to the wild soak up the quiet til I'm dripping wet with it" sings Elizabeth Stokes and I can honestly say this lyric speaks to me in a way that not many do. If you're anywhere near the route of this tour then make the effort to get out and see the Beths, I'm 99% sure you won't regret it.
