LIGHTNING SEEDS - SINGLE REVIEW

Lightning Seeds - Sunshine (BMG)

Release Date: Out Now

Ian Brodie, for my money, is one of the great but hugely underrated songwriters of all time so it is great to hear him back producing new music. This latest release, 'Sunshine', is a reliably upbeat melody full of horns and pulsing beats sewn together with a jangly guitar melody. Brodie's deadpan Liverpudlian brogue is unmistakable and that mix of pop melodies and indie songwriting just hits the spot when he sings "here comes the sunshine". Perfect.
