Danish musician Emilie Thorsby is back with new single 'Flame' which sits somewhere between Above & Beyond's uplifting EDM and Robyn's sad bangers. Thorsby's vocal is glacially cool but also exists on the edge of emotion which is a fine balance to strike and one that she manages with pin-point precision. Melodically, this tune swells and soars like a Years & Years or Clean Bandit anthem and the beats are particularly powerful when the synths drop out for a few seconds. Stirring and empowering stuff.
