Gosh and darn, I do love this song. The crashing percussion and stomping rhythm give you that road trip vibe straight away and then Tom Jenkins brings the melody with voice and guitar. The Welsh singer-songwriter hits the spot with new single 'Back Roads' which swells and lifts the spirits like a mixture of Elbow, James Bay, Feeder and Kings of Leon. This is the kind of song that should have crowds bouncing at summer festivals this year but also works as a wistful bed for a montage at the end of the summer so it's got something for everyone really. Blissful stuff.
