Maximo Park - Great Art

I'm not sure I could fully trust someone who doesn't take joy in the work of Maximo Park and especially now that their new single, 'Great Art', comes out as a direct attack on severe Tory policies and the idea that 'at least we'll get great art out of it'. As you'd expect from the North-East trio, this songs bounces and rattles along apace with a frenetic riff and that unmistakable vocal sneering out at the crowd with dead eyes. "Is this the great art you were hoping for?" sings Paul Smith and you just want to play this on a loop through a huge PA system at the end of Downing Street until they wave the white flag. Catch them on tour if you can, they're just playing the singles and it will be a joyous night out for sure.
