THE TIMEOUTS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Timeouts - Let Me In (Grungepop Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Nottingham grunge-rockers The Timeouts come out of their corner swinging with a snarling riff and pounding beats. 'Let Me In' is intended as a tribute to Chris Cornell and his battles with mental health but it stands up fine on it's own without that connection. The verse is all brooding rock energy before exploding with a grunge spirit in the chorus as bands like Soundgarden, Audioslave, Reef, Reuben and a Perfect Circle all come to the fore drenched in feedback and lung busting vocals. One of the best British rock songs I've heard for quite some time and I hear a lot of British rock songs.
