Listen With Monger Awards 2021 - The Shortlist
2021 has been an incredibly interesting year for music with plenty to
write about and artists reassessing how they make a living and an impact in
these continuing uncertain times. One thing that still rings true, however, is
that great, original songwriting still has a place in our hearts and it is
still out there despite the charts being full of Ed Sheeran’s voice notes and
the sound of Nick Minaj’s arse squeezing into the seat of a dodgem. So, you
know the rules by now, this shortlist can only feature artists that I’ve
reviewed during 2021 and nobody who has won a category in a previous year can
win again (I forget why I made that rule up but I’m sticking to it). The winners will be announced on 17th December. Right, let’s do
