Salford collective Tigerside are dropping their debut single this week and it is one hell of an entrance. 'Any Contact' opens with the request to "come on" soulfully sung out like a siren song atop a bristling city scape before the sun bursts over the horizon and the drums explode with freshness and energy. This track takes its place in the Manchester pantheon of uplifting indie-pop songs alongside the likes of New Order/Electronic and James as well as noisy neighbours the Lightning Seeds. The melodies bounce, the beat is baggy and the vocals make you want to take on the world without taking any prisoners. It's gonna sound ace at a festival in 2022...
