THE ULTRA VIOLETS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Ultra Violets - Watergate Bay

Release Date: Out Now

There can't be a release much more representative of the current Cornish music scene than this latest single from the county's most stylish exports, the Ultra Violets. 'Watergate Bay', for those not in the know, is named after the prime surfer spot of Newquay and musically this song matches that vibe with some carefree guitar melodies and the kind of energy that's tailor made for a montage of a day out surfing followed by a night cruising the bars of Newquay. Taking that gang mentality and sound from the likes of the Libertines, the Arctic Monkeys or the Kinks, the Ultra Violets add a freshness that sounds like a smack in the face with some ice-cold sea water feels. Refreshing.
